📋 How the training works

Generally, the way this training works is that we get you to do some pre-work in preparation: reviewing some content to get familiar with the material. Then a trainer is assigned to you, and they will contact you directly to arrange a date/time for the first one-on-one training session. The training sessions will be a number of video calls, usually for about an hour each. Depending on where you are at, the number of training sessions you need will vary; it could be as few as 1 or 2.

🎬 What happens in the sessions

Over the course of these training sessions, this is what will happen:

• Introductions.
• Role-playing gospel conversations with your trainer using the needGod.net script.
• Setting up the tools on your device so you can have real gospel conversations with strangers online.
• Getting into real gospel conversations with strangers online, with the trainer listening in and then doing a debrief after each chat.

Once you've demonstrated an understanding of the general principles and that you can hold a good conversation with a stranger online, you will graduate. All graduation means is that the formal part of your training is complete, you are part of the team, and now you just need to practice, practice, practice in your own time (or with us online). We have various ways to support graduates as they grow in their evangelism, places where questions can be asked, answered, and processed.

💻 What you'll need

Ideally, you will have a PC (or Mac) with a functioning webcam. If you don't have a webcam, there is software available that enables you to turn your phone into a webcam. Training can also be conducted using a phone or tablet - but for training purposes, this is less than ideal.

If you are keen to learn the evangelism method but don't want to do online evangelism - that is okay; you are welcome to get a couple of training sessions where you learn the material and just do a few role plays with your trainer.
